With the vision that everyone should arrive smoothly, greenly and safely, the Swedish Transport Administration is and is building an accessible Sweden for a sustainable social development. We are responsible for the long-term planning of road traffic, rail traffic, shipping and aviation, as well as for the construction and operation of state roads and railways. As one of the country’s – and thus the Nordic – largest builders and clients – we contribute to the development of society in a tangible way, both in the planning stage and in the construction phase.
Business area Stora Projekt is responsible for procuring and implementing Sweden’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects. Several of our projects are now entering the implementation phase and will grow. To be able to run them efficiently, specialist competences, new technology and smart working methods are required. Therefore, we are now developing the Department of Technology, Environment & Real Estate by, among other things, providing better conditions for leadership and gathering competencies. The purpose is to provide the projects with increased support that acts proactively.
The Department of Technology, Environment & Real Estate will consist of five units that provide specialist expertise in construction, digital project management, property and contracts, installation and environment. We give the projects support in the development of both the physical and the digital facility. The department currently has about 200 employees and about 100 resource consultants. As part of the development work, we are now introducing a new organization for the Technology, Environment & Property department.
Section manager installation in Gothenburg
As Section Manager, you are the first line manager with personnel and budget responsibility for approximately 10 employees. Your specialists work in the technical areas BEST, VA, Control & Surveillance and tunnel safety. The employees are located in the region west and region south with concentration in Gothenburg.
The section’s assignment is to provide specialist support for the various projects in the business area and to work on project preparation development work. As section manager you are part of the unit’s management team together with other section managers on the unit and a number of technology strategists. You collaborate with other colleagues in the management team and ensure that the business has a good future technology development and a high level of expertise among our specialists.
Based on a clear employer role, you plan, follow and follow up the section’s work so that it is conducted efficiently and quality-assured against the business goals. You create the conditions for a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and creativity. In the role of manager, you support and develop your employees through a visible, clear and coaching leadership. The role of Head of Section also includes supporting the projects with specialist knowledge to varying degrees.
You are responsible for managing and controlling the section against set goals and agreed deliveries. By having frequent dialogues with the projects, you know what they need before they need it. Through your leadership, you create a brave organization with employees who stay at the forefront.
There are trips in the service because the Swedish Transport Administration is a national authority.
We are looking for someone who is a civil engineer or a university engineer with a technical focus or equivalent education that we consider to be equivalent. You have professional experience of one or more of the section’s technical areas. You have experience and interest in development and change work.
It is an advantage if you have qualified professional experience from infrastructure projects and if you have experience in managing others. It is also an advantage if you have good knowledge of English in both speech and writing.
